Zhang Huan is known as one of the most important artists of the new wave of personal China.Zhang Huan and family history – and collective – a nation of the brutality of the Cultural Revolution, famine, political repression, ideological zeal and the difficulties of China.Zhang everyday life in mind as the most influential artists of the group of "Beijing East Village", a sort of colony of artists in the rural outskirts of Beijing.

Zhang Huan was born in 1963, January 3, in a city Yang, He Nan Province, China.

Zhang, 40, the performance of pioneering work in China in the early 1990. He moved to New York in 1998. His work fits neatly into a tradition that Joseph Beuys (who wrapped himself in felt and locked himself in a room with a coyote for five days in 1974) and Yoko Ono has been sitting (without letting the audience alternately cutting clothes in 1964). In works like these, the artist's body as a metaphor all of us and existential angst, sometimes no less absurd to be pecked by the results pigeons.Zhang s "around your body in one form or another, so usually naked, sometimes masochistic acts, citing the body as a primary method of communication, described as the only means by which the peoples of the world to otherwise.

Zhang chooses as their main form of art because of its connection with the performance of the body. The presentation of "For a one meters Anonymous Mountain "Was held in the Chinese province and several other artists are in the form of a truncated pyramid.
